his: & attorney lovecat | hers: isabel marant
wednesday night my husband and i wandered over to a pub in hackney for an open mic night.
the first performer was your typical folky, airy, girly type that you might find on triple j.
the second was a slightly overweight white guy rapper. he was awesome! firstly he read out a poem he wrote, then he rapped about a french poet. he didn't take himself too seriously. very funny stuff.
the third was a seasoned performer. she was more pop, but also a mean beatboxer. pretty incredible. at the end of her set a guy got up and did an impromptu beatbox with her.
the fourth was a skinny young guy who had a voice like johnny cash.
the fifth was a guy who wanted the reverb turned all the way up, sung a french song then sung a david bowie song.
we left the pub last night and i said, "well, that was interesting."
my husband said, "isn't that what we came to london for?"
on a more shallow level, i got to debut my awesome new isabel marants that i have been dying over for the last 2 years. i finally managed to track them down on ebay in as new condition (used lightly) and jumped at the opportunity. now to figure out how to coordinate them...
