I love these shoes. I may look like a cute Japanese school girl in them, but who cares. Japanese people are cool.

I haven't really featured this trench on the blog before, which doesn't reflect at all how much I use it. Now that the weather is (finally) warming up, I use it everyday.
And did I mention it converts into a cape? I never wear it out like this as I'm scared of looking like a farsharn douche, but I love the innovative design.
Anyway, this is what I wore to work on Friday for 2 hours, then I was told to go home because the project was canned. At least I got to use the free gym beforehand...

My lovely sister and brother-in-law bought this parka for me for my birthday last year. I have been waiting patiently for the weather to be warm enough to bust it out and the time has finally come!
I am obsessed with it. It's so oversized and shapeless, but there is nothing else I want to wear.

The weather has been mental in Germany. Combinations of gale force wind, snow, hail, sunshine, rain and sleet. It was snowing in Munich when this photo was taken. We then went to see some Germans surfing in the Eisbach river. Insane!
My travel clothes are actually quite simple. Because it's cold everything gets covered up by a jacket or coat anyway, I basically just pack black and grey tshirts and jeans. Then I hit it home with an awesome outer layer. I'll never get sick of this Maje coat, even if it moults everywhere.

We spent 1 night in the Black Forest, which was no where near enough. It's such a beautiful, eerie place, especially this time of year. We wandered behind our hotel and found a walking path which ran alongside a stream/waterfall. Ah-mazing!
Oh, and I managed to tick one off the bucket list by eating a Black Forest cake in the Black Forest (my husband laughed at me when I told him it was on my list). It was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be.

I may have worn this to go hiking in the woods... We unexpectedly came across a walking/hiking trail and decided to wing it up the mountain.
Probably not the best decision to wear my new Adidas Stan Smiths...
Speaking of which, I happen to have child-sized feet in the UK (size UK4/EU37 - not that small right?!), which means I also get child-sized prices. We're talking almost £30 difference here! Winning! (Note: They are rather uncomfortable as they rub against the back of my heel, but I bought a heel lift which has made all the difference. I think we can be friends again.)
Shirt dress: Topshop Boutique
I have been on the hunt for a white shirt dress for the longest time, alongside my searches for the perfect tee and white shirt. Alas, the journey continues.
This Topshop dress has taken my fancy. It has a nice twist with the optional side belt, but I'm worried it will look weird and lopsided. I'm all about symmetry. There is also a shirt version too. Hrm, looks like I may have to pay Topshop a visit.
The weather here has been pretty crappy. Lots of rain, even torrential at times. Today it alternated between sun and blue skies, to dark grey and snow! What the heck?!
So far we have made our way from Cologne, through Heidelberg, to the Black Forest, to Munich, Stuttgart and Aalen, and we are currently in Regensburg. Despite the weather, we have had an amazing time so far. The towns are so pretty and candy-coloured. The beer is excellent, and I'm not even a beer drinker! The driving is fast and totally safe. There are a lot of nice German cars here.
We've managed to meet up with a lot of friends along the way. Turns out that I know lots of people living in Germany! I think it always makes such a difference in a new country when you know locals #localknowledge.
Apologies for the boring post. I just wanted an excuse to post pictures of the pretty buildings in Heidelberg.

Apologies for my absence. I have had a horrible virus for 5 weeks since I came back from Norway. It really took it out of me.
Anyway, I'm now in Germany! Woohoo! My husband and I are doing a 10 day driving trip from Cologne to Berlin with lots of fun stops on the way. Hoping to be able to update my blog a bit while I'm on holiday, so watch this space.
These photos were from last weekend. Instagram had its 11tth worldwide Instameet and I went along to see what all the fuss is about. I met lots of cool, creative and super friendly people. The only frustrating thing about Instameets is that everyone wants to document every part of the day, so it's all very stop-start. We were literally stopping every 10 metres to take photos, which I am totally fine with if its not 5 degrees and I can't feel my hands and feet. My friend and I decided to
ditch go ahead of the group and thaw out in the Barbican.
The Barbican is awesome! It's the most random building, housing a theatre, foodhall, conservatory, apartments, fountains and cacti garden. Apparently it's also a great place to take a first date ;).
Thanks to my talented friend Shae for the photos of me. Check out her blog Rose and Hawk here.
Oh, and by the way, I got a fringe for the 3rd time.

I'm in Norway!
I stopped by Oslo and hung out with a lot of people from Perth and new Insta-friends. Oslo was heaps of fun and so, so pretty.
We are now in Tromsø chasing the Northern Lights and dog sledding. It's absolutely beautiful here!
Did you know:
- one month of the year Norwegians don't get taxed and are paid more money by the government. Sort of like a "hooray, it's summer".
- Norwegians like to use people's full names, not nicknames.
- they eat bacon with fish.
- cross-country skiing is a well utilised mode of transport.
- at the height of summer there are 23 hours of daylight.

We need to talk about Stan Smiths.
I was recently in Paris and everyone was wearing them. I mean, everyone. How is it that beautiful French women can make anything look cool, even shoes that my husband wore 10 years ago?
They are all I can think about. And I want to wear them with everything. I tried them on the other day and they are so comfortable.
I think I need them in my life... Right...?
You can never have enough white sneakers... Right...?
